However, blindly reducing the material size will increase the energy consumption at the crushing phase, so the material size should be made as large as possible while satisfying the processing requirements of the pellet mill. In fact, the ability to press large-diameter raw materials is one of the advantages of flat die machines. Generally, for raw materials such as crop straws, the maximum feed size requirement is less than 2×2×30 mm, while for wood raw materials, the feed size should be less than ¢12×40mm.
